Saturday night, Dec. 3, we went to one of our favorite places to dance – The Western Club in Navasota. We have been going to this place pretty much since it opened something like four years ago. It reminds me of Cheers – where everybody knows your name! We feel like we are with family here with Glenn (the owner), Shirley and her Glenn, Skeeter and Dorothy. We have met some really nice couples here and continue to meet more!
Glenn and Skeeter decided to go “outside the box” and hire this band that they had heard when we were all in Ruidoso, NM for the Lincoln County Cowboy Symposium. Cole Reeves is a 16 year old who can perform like you have never seen. This kid is a natural and knows how to entertain the crowd. His older brother plays guitar and then last night, they had Robby, who was inducted in to the Rock and Roll Hall Fame AND is 81 years old play saxophone. This guy was phenomenal! He also has a drummer and bass player and they were really good.
Cole does anything from 50s and 60s rock and roll to country and this kid plays piano like Jerry Lee Lewis!!
It was a great night with friends and me being the rocker, I thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment!!
