Dancing to Jake Hooker and the Outsiders

We discovered Jake Hooker a few years ago while he was playing at one of the casinos after one of the the National Finals Rodeo events in Las Vegas (which, we didn’t attend, but that is a long story for another time).  We have been “Hooker” fans ever since.   Last night he was performing to benefit the Brazos County Youth Livestock Show.  First, whoever booked him had no idea of the following he has.  We got there and the room had been partitioned off (this is a huge building where you can move walls for needed space).  A friend of ours said there were only 200 chairs and we knew that wasn’t going to be enough.  Fortunately, we got there in plenty of time to get a good table.  As the night went on, the room had to be opened up as it got packed!  More tables and chairs were placed so people would have to place to sit.  Course, lots of those that showed up were kids and they just stand around.  Then they ran out of beer!!  We were horrified!  Don’t think we have ever been to a dance where they ran out of beer.  About an hour later, more beer showed up, the dance was a HUGE success and my feet were hurting at the end as we don’t sit much when we go dancing.  I am including a video of the band (this is an older video as one of the band members is no longer with him) But you can hear the powerful voice Jake has.  To date, he has a steel guitar player, drummer and now two fiddle players and Jake plays a stand up bass.  These guys are fabulous!
